Sunshine and Lollipops

It’s been the better part of a year in the making, but as of yesterday morning our household is a little less reliant on grid power. Yes, our solar panel install is finally active.

Unfortunately, being November now, the best time of year for full solar collection has passed for 2022. It should help a little over the coming months but I don’t expect to see the potential fully realized until April or May of 2023.

The system funnels data into a Hoymiles DTU-PRO box which then sends that data on panel production and any issues up to the cloud – I should hopefully get account access to that data this week and can start adding that into my Home Assistant instance.

Stay tuned for more when I have something to report.
